Guidelines

This section will guide you through different areas where Leca offers solutions to different problems. It considers problems such as settlement, stability, earth pressure and insulation. Please contact your local maxit representative for detailed information - see contact folder.

Under each section, you will find a list of parameters that should be considered before design, listed as basic considerations. Furthermore, you will find figures related to the general solutions, design examples and instructions for installation and quality control.

It is important to emphasize that the examples in this guideline are simple illustrations which show relevant structures with and without Leca. The examples are intended to show the benefits of using Leca compared with conventional fill material in applications concerning settlement, stability, earth pressure and insulation. This is not a handbook on how to design structures using Leca and it is strongly recommended that the design of such structures should be done in consultation with a geotechnical engineer.

It is also important to emphasize that the product information used in the design examples are based on Leca from our plant in Sweden. For other countries local material characteristics should be requested from the local maxit organisation - see contact folder
